Classes meet on Wednesdays, January 10 - March 13, 2024, from 5-7 pm at the LACE Center at 

39300 SW Laurelwood Road, Gaston, OR 97119

Children ages 5-9 years old are in the SPIKE Essentials class. Children ages 10 and older and in the SPIKE Prime class. If your child is on the edge of 9/10 years old, they will benefit from being in the SPIKE Essentials class first. If they learn all they can from this class they can move up to SPIKE Prime during the next session. 

Classes meet for 2 hours per week for 10 weeks. The cost of the 10 week session is $200 per child. If you have multiple children, fill out the enrollment form for each child individually. 

Classes are capped at 12 students per class. Once classes have filled up we will open our waiting list.  

SPIKE Essential engages students in hands-on investigation of STEAM concepts while contributing to literacy, math, and social-emotional development. Standards-aligned learning units use everyday themes, relatable Minifigures with different personalities and familiar LEGO® building elements to solve problems through storytelling.

SPIKE Essential excites students and delivers strong STEAM learning outcomes, developing their STEAM knowledge and practices, and 21st century skills.

Combining colorful LEGO building elements, easy-to-use hardware, and an intuitive drag-and-drop coding language based on Scratch, SPIKE Prime continuously engages students through playful learning activities to think critically and solve complex problems, regardless of their learning level. From easy-entry projects to limitless creative design possibilities, including the option to explore text-based coding with Python, SPIKE Prime helps students learn the essential STEAM and 21st century skills needed to become the innovative minds of tomorrow... while having fun!
