Laurelwood Preschool

Laurelwood Preschool is a twice a week, three hours a day, drop off school. 

Class sizes vary between 4-10 children per class.

 This is for 2-5 year olds and focuses on colors, alphabet, numbers 1-20 and social skills. 

Our main focus is child led learning, fun and, most importantly, learning through play. 

Our classes are scheduled as 6 week sessions. 

You may enroll for a single session or multiple sessions. 

Classes are Wednesday and Friday 8:30 am to 11:30am. 

Snacks will be served, lunch will not.

October 16-November 20

January 8- February 12

February 19 - March 26

April 2 - May 14 with a 1 week Spring Break April 23 & 25

$400 tuition per 6 week session.

This includes the registration fee.

Preschool ages 2-5 years old.

This class is led by an adult with a second adult as assistant.

Class size is from 5-10 children.

Each 6 week session has a different theme. 

Toys, books, snack and educational material will change based on the theme.

September 4 - October 9 - Theme Animals

October 16-November 20 - Theme Transportation/Planes/Trains/Cars

Winter Break

January 8- February 12 -Theme Food/Kitchen/Diner

February 19 - March 26 - Theme House/Family Life

April 2 - May 14 with a 1 week Spring Break April 23 - Theme Sensory Play

Circle Time - Welcome song, counting, weather, month/day/year, monthly theme, talking stone, song, silence game, stretching. 

Sensory play examples play dough, moon sand, slime, water tables and toys, sensory bin (rice, pasta, beans), musical instruments, sensory bottles, cloud dough, foam, bubbles, paint, fidget toys.

Reading Circle two books, one for the months theme, one for fun

Physical Play examples outside play, balance beam indoors, bounce house (during that months theme), going on a walk around the building or inside the building depending on weather, active songs.

Snack Time - please let us know during enrollment if your child has any special dietary restrictions. Children may eat as much as they would like and take as long as they would like to eat. Hand washing before and after snack. Wet and dry cloths for the children to clean up their spot, designated spot for children to put their dishes when they are done.

Free Play - children can play freely with the theme of the month, ask for a book to be read, play with the tasks available. Sensory play will not be available during this time (fidget toys being the exception). Clean up before circle time.

Circle Time - Active song, talk about the fun we had, what we look forward to, say goodbye to each child as they leave, wind down while parents pick up children. During the beautiful weather children will play outside for the last 30 minutes.

Children will be dropped off at the entrance, doors will be locked at 8:30 for children's safety. Parents are always welcome to observe class, please let the teacher know if you will be back to observe and she will let you in. Children can be picked up in the classroom or outside on the playground, depending on weather. Children will only be released to their parent, unless the parent has made previous arrangements with the teacher for an alternative pick up/drop off person.
